Internationally acclaimed concert pianist Keren Hanan has given recitals throughout the world, including New York, Boston, Rome, London, Budapest, Vietnam, China, and many other places. She has performed with the New Amsterdam Symphony Orchestra, the Israeli Philharmonic Orchestra with Zubin Mehta, the Belgrade Philharmonic, and the Budapest Festival Orchestra, among others. As a chamber musician she has taken part in the Sunday Chamber Music Series of the Budapest Festival Orchestra, the New Chamber Music Series of the Israeli Philharmonic, and the Pharos Festival in Cyprus. Keren collaborates actively with the world-famous cellist Steven Isserlis.
Keren began her piano studies with Hanna Shalgi and Pnina Salzman. She won several national competitions, including the Clairmont Award. From an early age, she has received numerous American-Israeli Foundation Scholarships.
Keren continued her studies at the New England Conservatory in Boston with Wha Kyung Byun; in Tel Aviv with Prof. Arie Vardi; and in Italy with Franco Scala and Antonio Ballista. She currently lives in Budapest, working with Ferenc Rados.
Keren is also an established painter. Her renowned work is held in private collections in New York, London, Tel Aviv and Budapest. In her paintings, Keren expresses the deep emotions of various musical pieces. Her incredible talent as a concert pianist has allowed her to visualise and express the feelings and meanings that she can capture from the music. Through the use of colour, texture and movement, Keren gives the world a glimpse into the underlying essence and structure of a musical composition.
Keren has performed for numerous charities including the Red Cross, Rotary, Society of Jesus, the Anglican Church and a variety of organisations for children and children's hospitals.
